A common goal the projects share is to demonstrate that emerging power generation systems can provide clean, reliable power.&nbsp;HAYNES<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> and HASTELLOY<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> alloys are used as enabling technologies to make it possible to build and operate some of these systems. Our alloys are necessary because they can perform under demanding high-temperature, environmentally aggressive operating conditions.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns alignfull are-vertically-aligned-top is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-8f761849 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-vertically-aligned-top is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:66.66%\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This emerging market encompasses three key power generation applications:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Advanced Power Generation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Emerging technologies include supercritical-CO<sub>2<\/sub>&nbsp;(sCO<sub>2<\/sub>) power cycles, advanced ultra-supercritical power plants, coal gasification, gas separation technologies for oxy-combustion and syngas production, and gas-to-liquids.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Renewables<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Emerging technologies include fuel cells, concentrated solar power, photovoltaic cells, thermoacoustic engines, sterling engines, geothermal, waste fuels, and waste- and&nbsp;biomass-to-energy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Advanced Nuclear<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Emerging technologies include next-generation, molten salt and molten metal nuclear reactors, and gas-cooled nuclear reactors. Used in demanding industrial heating applications and steam reformer parts.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/haynesintl.com\/en\/datasheet\/haynes-hr-235-alloy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>HAYNES<\/strong><strong><sup>\u00ae<\/sup><\/strong><strong>\u202fHR-235<\/strong><strong><sup>\u00ae<\/sup><\/strong><strong>\u202falloy<\/strong><\/a>&nbsp;<br>HAYNES<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>\u202fHR-235<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>\u202fis a high-chromium, copper-bearing nickel alloy that has excellent resistance to metal dusting in carbonaceous high-temperature environments. Potential uses include applications in petrochemical production and syngas plants. Similar to other nickel-based corrosion resistant alloys, the alloy is readily fabricated and welded.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/haynesintl.com\/en\/alloys\/alloy-portfolio\/high-temperature-alloys\/haynes-244\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>HAYNES<\/strong><strong><sup>\u00ae<\/sup><\/strong><strong>\u202f244<\/strong><strong><sup>\u00ae<\/sup><\/strong><strong>\u202falloy<\/strong><\/a>&nbsp;<br>HAYNES<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>\u202f244<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>\u202falloy is a new Ni-Mo-Cr-W alloy developed for static parts in advanced gas turbine engines which require low thermal expansion at temperatures up to 1400\u00b0F (760\u00b0C). It offers a higher maximum use temperature than other low thermal expansion alloys currently available, including a 100-200\u00b0F (55-110\u00b0C) improvement over HAYNES<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>\u202f242<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>\u202falloy.\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/haynesintl.com\/en\/datasheet\/haynes-282-alloy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>HAYNES<\/strong><strong><sup>\u00ae<\/sup><\/strong><strong>\u202f282<\/strong><strong><sup>\u00ae<\/sup><\/strong><strong>\u202falloy<\/strong><\/a>&nbsp;<br>HAYNES<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>\u202f282<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>\u202falloy is a new, wrought, gamma-prime strengthened superalloy developed for high-temperature structural applications, especially those in aero and industrial gas turbine engines. It possesses a unique combination of creep strength, thermal stability, weldability, and fabricability not found in currently available commercial alloys. This new alloy has excellent creep strength in the temperature range of 1200 to 1700\u00b0F (649\u00b0 to 927\u00b0C), surpassing that of Waspaloy alloy and approaching that of R-41 alloy.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/haynesintl.com\/en\/datasheet\/hastelloy-n-alloy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>HASTELLOY<\/strong><strong><sup>\u00ae<\/sup><\/strong><strong>\u202fN alloy<\/strong><\/a>&nbsp;<br>HASTELLOY<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>\u202fN alloy has good resistance to aging and embrittlement and good fabricability. It has excellent resistance to hot fluoride salts in the temperature range of 1300\u00b0F to 1600\u00b0F (705\u00b0C-870\u00b0C).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/haynesintl.com\/en\/datasheet\/haynes-hr-120-alloy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>HAYNES<\/strong><strong><sup>\u00ae<\/sup><\/strong><strong>\u202fHR-120<\/strong><strong><sup>\u00ae<\/sup><\/strong><strong>\u202falloy<\/strong><\/a>&nbsp;<br>HAYNES<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>\u202fHR-120<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>\u202falloy offers very good creep strength to 1800\u00b0F (980\u00b0C), together with good resistance to several industrial environments (e.g. excellent carburization and very good sulfidation and oxidation resistance). This economical alloy has found use in applications as an upgrade from 330 alloy, 800H alloy and stainless steels.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/haynesintl.com\/en\/datasheet\/haynes-hr-160-alloy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>HAYNES<\/strong><strong><sup>\u00ae<\/sup><\/strong><strong>\u202fHR-160<\/strong><strong><sup>\u00ae<\/sup><\/strong><strong>\u202falloy<\/strong><\/a>&nbsp;<br>HAYNES<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>\u202fHR-160<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>\u202falloy has outstanding resistance to sulfidation and other high-temperature aggressive environments.
