Department: Production Planning               Location: Kokomo, IN

Business Purpose:
To plan, provision, and control semi-finish stock for customer orders to best utilize semi-finish and finish goods that will result in the timely manufacture of these products while developing and maintaining a high standard of customer service both internally and externally.

Role Qualifications: (Required & Preferred)

Education:
Associate degree (R), or equivalent planning experience (P)

Experience:
Warehouse or Manufacturing Planning (P), Planning/Scheduling/Productions Control, Manufacturing (P)

Areas of Knowledge:
Scheduling experience (P), Manufacturing or warehouse experience (P)

Skills:
Strong Math skills: volumes, lengths, widths, areas, diameters, and elongation (R), Windows based software experience (R), Organizational skills: Attention to detail, thorough, complete (R), Good communication (R)

Global Accountabilities for the Role:
  • Maintain safe working environment at all times. Be aware of and follow all safety practices and procedures while present in any area of the plant.
  • Receive, plan, route, audit and issue material
  • Answer product reviews within prescribed time period
  • Maintain backlog and planning deck integrity
  • Answer inquires
  • Maintain the development, updating and streamlining of base routings
  • Participate in the continuing development of new computer software and practices
Specific Accountabilities for the Role:
1. Always follow all safety procedures throughout the plant
2. Receive into the system all material within 24 hours of physical receipt
3. Plan, route, audit and issue material to customer orders while maximizing yield and minimizing cost
4. Answer product reviews within 24 hours of receipt
5. Work changes, backorders, and cancellations within 24 hours of receipt
6. Answer inquiries within 24 hours of receipt
7. Continually assist in the developing, updating and streamlining of base routings
8. Continually assist in the development and streamlining of current systems
9. Keep department informed of special procedures, changes or new developments in base routings, a
specific customer, specification or product
