The purpose of these position is to ensure compliance with all Federal and State, and local EHS regulations with respect to employee health and safety, and environmental management. To promote safety, compliance and best practices in EH&S.

Role Qualifications: Required & Preferred

Education:  Associate in Science (AS) with focus on Safety or equivalent – (R); Bachelor of Science (BS) – (P).

Experience: 5+ years in safety supporting a manufacturing environment (R) Environmental (P).

Areas of Knowledge: OSHA (R), NFPA (R), ANSI (R), industrial hygiene (R), ergonomics (P), workers compensation (P)

Specific Accountabilities for the Role:

• Effectively communicate and ensure compliance with: company policies and procedures, Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) and the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).  Provide safety and health consultation and information to support all company safety and health efforts. Work cooperatively with all levels of management and  production employees on all safety related issues. Maintain knowledge of OSHA & IOSHA standards.

• Effectively communicate and ensure compliance with plant rules of conduct.

• Monitor incidence, frequency and severity rates and provide management with statistics. These statistics must be detailed and provide guidance and direction for future actions to reduce injuries and illnesses.

• Ensure that all employees, both hourly and management; receive all safety training necessary to perform their essential job functions in a safe manner. This includes training for supervisors on programs they are required to implement.

• Coordinate activities of all outside agencies that impact safety. Maintain a good working relationship with all agencies, and follow up as needed on recommendations and/or citations.

• Maintain knowledge of IOSHA, OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001, NFPA and ANSI standards and how those standards are to be applied.

• Maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS’s)

• Assist with other safety related duties as needed
