Department: Environmental, Health & Safety                              Location:  Kokomo, IN

Business Purpose:
Compliance with Environmental, Health and Safety Regulations.  Support the EHS Department’s compliance efforts with all Federal, State and local EHS regulations with respect to employee safety, health and environmental issues.

Role Qualifications: (Required & Preferred)

Education:
AS in Science with focus on Safety or equivalent (P)

Experience:
3+ years in safety supporting a manufacturing environment (P)

Areas of Knowledge:
OSHA (P), NFPA (P), ANSI (P), ISO 14000/18000 (P), industrial hygiene (P), ergonomics (P), PPE (P)

Skills:
Communications, computer, problem solving, organizational (R)

Specific Accountabilities for the Role:

  1. Effectively assist the EHS Department with internal auditing of EHS compliance and ISO certifications. Track monthly departmental audits and enter records into Docushare.

     

  2. Assist with SDS management by working to ensure the most recently updated information is obtained and available.

     

  3. Assist with tracking of incidents and frequency rates for the Kokomo location utilizing data in OHM.  Assist with contractor briefings as necessary.  Ensure materials are prepared and available at all times.

     

  4. Assist with annual EHS training schedule.  Verify that all employees are up to date with required EHS training.

     

  5. Track Safety Shoe and Rx Safety Glasses orders and employee eligibility.  Schedule the Shoe Truck at least 2 times per year.  Order all safety supplies and PPE as requested and required for employee safety.

     

  6. Assist the EHS Department with purchase orders and invoice tracking.

     

  7. Assist with LOTO, JSA and PPE Assessments documents, review tracking, general safety documents review, equipment releases, and preparation of Supervisors’ Monthly Safety presentations.

     

  8. File EHS documents (paper and digital into Docushare); ensure Safety Committee and Ergonomic Team meeting notes are current/preserved, and assist with any and all other EHS related tasks and duties as requested.

     

  9. Assist with data entry required for environmental reports and monitoring including: daily cooling tower reports, monthly wastewater reports, quarterly air reports, weekly energy reports and others as needed.
